Alleged scams by Ravi, Vishwajeet, Muley rock Goa Assembly

Recruitment scandals of two former Congress ministers and a scam in disposing mortgaged properties of Goa State Co-operative Bank marked today’s Assembly.
Chief minister Manohar Parrikar even went to the extent of making a statement that the persons responsible for the scam would land up in jail.
Though no politician was named in particular, it was evident that the scams were related to former agriculture minister Vishwajeet Rane, former home minister Ravi Naik and Ramchandra Muley, former chairman of Goa State Co-operative Bank.
The whole one-hour long Question Hour was almost dedicated to these three questions.
The first one raised by BJP MLA Carols Almeida was regarding recruitments made in agriculture department from July 2009 to November 2011, when Vishwajeet was the agriculture minister.
“The person responsible for this has blatantly violated court guidelines and recruited nearly 70 per cent people from Sattari taluka”, said Parrikar.
The second issue was also raised by BJP MLA Vishnu Wagh, relating to recruitment in police department during the same period, when Ravi Naik was the home minister.
Parrikar, during this debate, clearly stated that maximum recruitment was from Ponda because the home minister was the Ponda MLA.
The third issue, raised by independent MLA Naresh Sawal, exposed the sale of mortgaged 90 sq mts flats in Panaji, at a mere sum of Rs four lakh each.
Though co-operation minister Dipak Dhawalikar was stating that the whole matter is presently sub-judice, Parrikar intervened to announce that he would probe into this scandal if it doesn’t clash with the court matter.

Like the Alemao`s of Varca ,Ranes of Valpoi and Monserattes of Taleigao/Santa Cruz, The Naiks of Ponda have carved out parts of Goa as their little fiefdoms.
I am surprised Churchill & his side-kick Valanka Alemao have been omitted form these job scams prevalent in Goa.
Many of these crooked and evil MLA`s, have become rich , by selling jobs to poor Goans.
It is very sad indeed, when Goan job-seekers are denied jobs based on merit & all their hard educational efforts are laid to waste.
It is estimated that 90% of Goa Police have had to pay for their jobs.
No wonder they indulge in corruption & hafta collection to recover their money ,and pay off loans.
shame on these MLA`s and the sooner they are jailed, the more beautiful Goa, will be & prosper.
