Adhar Card compulsion relaxed for 3 months
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 05 April 2013 17:55 IST
Goa government has decided to relax the compulsion of Adhar Card to avail any scheme or benefit only in case of those who has not received the Adhar Card.
The issue was brought to the notice of the government by ruling BJP MLA Kiran Kandolkar.
“Even if you have not received your Adhar Card, you can get the print out and the card number from the website”, Parrikar informed the Assembly today.
However, he agreed to the suggestion not to make the production of card compulsory for some time.
“We will relax it for three more months, but then it would be mandatory”, said the chief minister.
As the Adhar Card drive has been quite successful in Goa, the government now insists only on Adhar Card to avail any government scheme or the benefit.
