Sardinha for both Mopa and Dabolim air ports

South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha said he changed his stand on opposing Mopa only when it was decided that Dabolim also would remain and both are feasible.
A strong proponent of Mopa air port now, Sardinha has joined hands with Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho to support Mopa, along with Dabolim air port.
His other Congress colleagues like Aleixo Reginald Lourenco, who defeated Sardinha in Curtorim and continues to be the MLA for the second time, has opposed Mopa.
Sardinha's support to Mopa however is conditional. He also wants a four-lane highway from South to North to reach Mopa faster.
He feels Dabolim air port would not be closed after prime minister agreeing to it and the civil aviation ministry sanctioning almost Rs 500 crore for its expansion.
"They have even spent Rs 380 crore to provide all necessary facilities", he said.
Sardinha said when he thinks of Mopa, he thinks of 50 years ahead when air traffic would be unmanageable at Dabolim air port.
The issue has come to the fore once again with Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardesai launching an agitation to oppose Mopa.

Mr. Sardinha said he support both airport Dabolim
and Mopa. Sardinha first of all propose such airport
when he was in Rulling congress, how come he say
that now he oppose now. The tenders and
commission he got it now why he have to worry about
whereabout airports located. People must remember
defeat them from congress and as well in BJP such
as Proomod who want to change names in Goa.
