329 foreigners die in 6 years in Goa

Despite it being the favourite destination for tourists, Goa has recorded deaths of 329 foreigners in the last six years, many of whom come here to enjoy their holidays.
The reply tabled on the floor of the House today by the state government has revealed that a total of 329 foreigners died in Goa since from 2005-2011.
The data furnished by state Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar indicates that every alternate foreigner dies an "unnatural death".
Of the 329 foreigners, 177 died an "unnatural death" in the state, with several of them holidaying in the state, the reply mentioned.
The maximum number of foreigners who died were from the UK, which accounts for the second highest number of foreigners holidaying in Goa.
Russians top the chart of foreign tourist arrivals in the state.
In 2008, British teenager Scarlet Keeling was found dead on Goa's Anjuna beach, following which two people were arrested for drugging, sexually abusing and leaving her to die on the beach.
The highest number of deaths were reported in 2009 when 65 foreigners died. Besides, 59 foreigners died in 2007, 37 in 2005, 40 in 2006, 41 in 2008, 65 in 2009, 50 in 2010 and 37 in 2011, the report said.
After so much, yet why do we allow foreigners stay in Goa for so long can't their tourist visas be restricted to one or two months. Why night raving parties, not able to control this limit tourism.
