Narvekar indicted in GCA inquiry report

Former Goa Cricket Association president Dayanand Narvekar is believed to have been indicted by an inquiry committee, which probed into affairs of the sports body.
The two-member committee submitted its report to the state government today.
Even though the details of the report have been kept under wraps, sources said that the committee has indicted Narvekar for "frauds and administrative goof ups" in the GCA.
"We have done all the investigations as per the mandate given to the committee. The report was submitted to the government today," Chetan Desai, former GCA secretary and a member of the committee, said.
Desai refused to disclose the findings of the committee, but hinted that the committee has found "irregularities" in the functioning of GCA, led by the former GCA chief Narvekar.
The committee was constituted after Manohar Parrikar took over the reigns of the state.
The committee, which faced initial resistance from Narvekar, has investigated the alleged financial and administrative "irregularities" in the cricket body.
"The government had asked me to do specific investigation like the construction of the new GCA building located at the south stand, which houses the academy and I have found irregularities. There are other frauds committed, which I do not want to disclose at the moment," stated Desai, a former Indian Cricket team manager.
Narvekar was removed recently after 11 out of the 13 member committee expressed "no confidence" in him.
