IFFI now preponed from 20 to 30 November

International Film Festival of India would be now held from 20 to 30 November every year.
The announcement regarding the preponement of dates was made by chief minister Manohar Parrikar today.
IFFI dates were opposed last year since it ended on 3 December, the day of St Francis Xavier Feast, where lakhs of devotees throng to Old Goa.
Union information and broadcasting minister Ambika Soni as well as former chief minister Digambar Kamat had then assured Goans to change the dates from this year.
Parrikar confirmed that the government had sought approval for the new dates from the international body that monitors IFFI in India.
