Balli murder accused Gajanan commits suicide

 

Goa was stunned today with news that one of the accused in Balli post-agitation violence, Gajanan Faldesai, committed suicide behind Cuncolim police station.

The 28-year old local from Balli was one of the 14 accused in the violent attack and burning down tribal activists on 25 May this year.

The suicide had an instant reaction with Balli villagers staging a Rasta rook, demanding immediate suspension of crime branch PI Sunita Sawant.

The locals demanded that the police investigating officer be charged for abetment to suicide.

They even restrained the police to take the dead body of Gajanan for post-mortem.

The body was later on shifted to the GMC hospital for a post-mortem, to be conducted tomorrow.

The police, investigating into the deaths of tribal activists Mangesh Gaonkar and Dipak Velip, have already arrested Dipak Faldesai.

While Prashant Faldesai is absconding till date, Gajanan was one of the 12 other accused, facing murder charge.

The United Tribals Associations’ Alliance (UTAA) had a violent road and rail blockade on 25 May, in protest of their long-pending demands.

The UTAA activists had burnt down government vehicles following a lathicharge by the police.

Following the violence, the locals had retaliated by beating up the activists after major crowd dispersed and burning down the cashew factory, owned by one of the tribal leaders.

Two tribal activists – Mangesh and Dilip – were burnt to death in the factory premised.

Police were investigating the case and had charge sheeted 14 locals under charges of murder.

On the other hand, the police had also arrested UTAA activists.

Perhaps,It could have been a cop Involved,An undercover UTAA activist who did a clean job.You'll never know with Goa police,They don't have a clean chit at all.

Watz happening in here?Itz jus a political game .Watz a use of this fight n all people should aware of this dirty politics n game played by these demons my point of view like these things is not needed in our state u guys should think abt it!

May be this is just a mere conincidence that Mr Faldessai was connected in this case relating Balli (Tal. Quepem, Dist. S. Goa). As others accused in the same case along with Mr Faldessai are roaming freely in the area.
