Digambar-Parrikar's green signal for exising NH 4A alignment

The ruling and opposition parties have unanimously resolved a major issue on the national highway expansion – to stick to the alignment proposed by the National Highway Authority.
Goa would now go ahead with the same alignment of NH 4A, from Panaji to Mollem.
A sub-committee of Goa Assembly, which met today, decided to allow the NHA to apply section 3D, to acquire the land in South Goa for highway expansion.
It however kept out the disputed areas for the time being, decision on which would be taken later, said chief minister Digambar Kamat.
The meeting was attended also by opposition leader Manohar Parrikar, power minister Alexio Sequeira, deputy speaker Mauvin Godinho and other MLA members of the sub-committee.
Goa had witnessed a massive agitation, jointly launched against expansion of NH 4A and NH 17. The NH4A Diversion Action Committee had demanded that the proposed alignment be shifted to midland.
It appears that the decision to go ahead with the proposed alignment has been taken in view of the fact that the last date for section 3A notification is 15 February.
Applying section 3D before that is mandatory or Goa would lose the opportunity of having highway expansion.
A final nail in the coffin, by the hands of the Opposition.
Look out for the public outcry, it may not be the end.
Applyign Sec 3D means land irrevocably in the hands of the Centre with no control of the State. Leaving out sticky parts for later means arms-twisting and puncturing the air out of the demands of opposing movement. That does it.
Nice to hear well do one get to see d completion say in ones lifetime?
The main reason for opposition of such project is ignorance and hidden agenda of few who r at the forefront.
One important step would be to compensate the affected party by giving market value of the acquired land/house etc or equal land of same value at other place.
We need leaders and not traders.
