It's tough to preach non-violence: Gujarat filmmaker
PTI, PANAJI | 28 November 2010 18:14 ISTA Gujarat-based filmmaker, who has produced a documentary to spread the message of pro-active public involvement against terror attacks, feels that one needs to be physically and emotionally strong like Mahatama Gandhi to preach non-violence.
"Gandhiji was physically and emotionally very strong.. that''s why people would believe in him when he spoke of non-violence," Tejaswini Tembhe, who produced the documentary "We Shall Overcome", said today.
Her film was screened at IFFI 2010 here.
"Non-violence needs to be practised very judiciously," she felt.
"No one will believe in philosophy of non-violence preached by a person who is very weak. You need to be physically and psychologically strong to preach it," said the Baroda-based filmmaker.
Tembhe''s documentary film has seven Indian Air Force officers acting in it.
"Through this film, we wish to spread the message that a proactive public will in the long run discourage and reduce the proliferation of terrorist attacks on innocent civilians," she said.
The documentary, which has been screened at 1,000 places including schools, is a part of Short Film Centre at IFFI 2010 in Goa. .
