Nilkanth a new tourism minister

Newly inducted minister Nilkanth Halarnkar is the new tourism minister.

Chief minister Digambar Kamat today decided to allot all the portfolios of Mickky Pacheco, who resigned recently, to Halarnkar.

He would also be the minister for Housing and Captain of Ports.

It is clear now that Mickky's resignation would not result into cabinet reshuffle.

Mickky was told to step down after his alleged involvement in the case of suicidal death of Nadia Torrado.

Mickky and his former OSD Lyndon Monteiro are still underground in this case. Both of them have filed anticipatory bail applications in the high court. Lyndon withdrew his earlier application and filed a fresh one.

Meanwhile, Courtrim MLA Alex Reginald Lourenco is expected to take over as the chairman of the North Goa Planning and Development Authority, the post held by Halarnkar till yesterday.

Reginald is expected to be replaced by Priol MLA Dipak Dhavalikar as the chairman of Kadamba Transport Corporation. His elder brother Sudin is the transport minister. This is the first time both these important positions would be allotted to one family.

If it happens, then the post of chairman of Horticulture Corporation, held by Dipak, would be given to Sankalp Amonkar, Goa Youth Congress president.

The chief minister is expected to take a final decision in this regard by weekend.

At present Goa is being marketed all over the Glo0be by the builder lobby who are hand in glove with the politicians. As a result of which, the price of a two bedroom flat here is more than that in developed cities like Poona and the loot is being shared by the builder lobby and the corrupt babus and politicians!

As a consequence of this, purchasing a house has gone beyond the means of a local man or a person having roots here.

The people should build up pressure on the government to enact a law whereby, the sale of houses/flats to outsiders should be banned or at least regulated. Or a time will come when the common man will feel like an alien in his own home State!

Needs transparency in Goa Housing Board.

During Mickky time, as a chairman of housing board he had panned a housing board at Taki tilamol (Quepem taluka ) in curchorem constituency

the work of planning and developing a area of 58000 sq mts with 70 plots of 400 sq. mts each is going on silently nobody in the area are aware about details of the projects and for whose benefit this plots are being developed is also not clear, Xeldem Panchyat also has no clarity over the project.

At present people from same locality are facing drinking water shortage problem and

punchayat has no plans for garbage collection and disposal nor they have identified the place for garbage disposal

I expect at least new Minister for housing Mr Halankar will come clear on this mega housing project.

It is a pathetic scenario where the positions of power have to be distributed to keep the power hungry so called servants of the people, to bring stability in the Govt.! Long live our democracy!
