Prohibiting inspection of nigh club creates confusion

A senior bureaucrat’s order restraining police from entering the famous night club at Anjuna beach created ripples in the state police. It was later withdrawn after intervention of district collector.
Anjuna police, on a raid spree curbing drug menace and enforce the noise pollution act, were asked not to inspect Paraiso de Goa club premises, without prior permission from the district administration.
The order signed by Deputy Collector (Mapusa) Dasharath Redkar created confusion in the police brass.
The police in their recent raids had nabbed a notorious drug dealer. He was found hanging around the club premises in February this year.
The club, tucked right atop the hill, is a famous night hangout and has been frequented by many, including foreign tourists.
The club was thereafter under scanner and has been frequently checked by the police during their routine sortie.
Incidently, the club management had complained to the deputy collector about the constant checking by the police to stop the music beyond 10 at night. It is not permissible as per the local laws.
Collectorate sources stated that the deputy collector responding to the complaint restrained the police from even entering the premises.
"We have received the order, but just now I have got the communication that it is withdrawn," Anjuna police Inspector Manjunath Desai told PTI.
The withdrawal of controversial order came after district collector Mihir Vardhan personally intervened in the matter, this evening.
"He (deputy collector) has withdrawn the order. He said it was due to oversight," Vardhan told PTI this evening.
Goa police have initiated series of inspections in the coastal belt to control the drug menace.
Police claim that they have been able to get vital clues in narcotic trade after the arrest of two major drug dealers - Yaniv Benaim alias Atala and David Driham alias Dudu, both Israelis.
The print media could go to the root cause of as to whether the order not to inspect a night club was issued due to political pressure and as to who this leader is? Unless such actions are initiated, misuse of positions by the corrupt will go on increasing!
This is a clear proof that Journalist are too involved. why are they not making a big Issue about this Order when small thing are blusted by them?
