Canacona Dy Coll Prashant Shirodkar arrested in Canacona mishap

Canacona police today arrested deputy collector Prashant Shirodkar, who initially complained about the building collapse, as his ‘conspiracy’ role as the chief officer of Canacona municipality was established during investigation.
Shirodkar is the second officer arrested following arrest of Prakash Bandodkar, the deputy chief town planner of Canacona, who had conspired with the municipal authorities to give approvals for these buildings illegally.
South Goa SP Shekhar Prabhudesai told goanews.com that they will move to the Canacona JMFC tomorrow to declare two builders and the contractor as proclaimed offenders, as all three are presently absconding.
The anticipatory bail application of Vishwas Desai, the contractor, was today rejected by District and Sessions judge Nutan Sardesai.
However, the police could not find him.
Pradeep Singh Birring and Jagdeep Kumar Seghal, owners of Bharat Construction, are absconding from the first day of the tragedy.
Meanwhile, order on the bail application moved by Canacona municipal engineer Ajay Desai would be passed on Wednesday, 15 January.
Arguments over his bail application were completed today.
It is all well & good arresting all these various officials.
However the real truth of the matter, is that the families of these Corrupt Officials will now be driving in their Sedans,BMW`s & Limousines to the various MLA`s & Police officials , with money-bags , hoping to dilute the case or better still find means to quash it.
Currently any of these corrupt officials, contributing to the BJP Party funds or coffers, will be treated with leniency.
The road to their salvation has begun. Their families are running amok, seeking favours.And money rather than the Law will be the deciding factor.
Forget Parrikars empty promise of Zero Tolerance. It will be "Money Tolerance.
