AAP demands audit of all disputed housing projects

Goa unit of Aam Aadmi Party has demanded a judicial probe and audit of all the disputed housing projects like Ruby Residency and book the builders and officials involved in similar violations like in Canacona that led to several lives due to building collapse.

Dinesh Waghela, the Goa-based national executive member of AAP, has also warned that neglecting these aspects would otherwise lead to similar callous and remorseless attitude that ultimately led to closure of mining activity in Goa.

“A similar fate could hit the building and real estate industry sooner than later if peoples' patience is tested again and again”, he said in press note released today.

While expressing heartfelt condolences to the families and employees who lost their lives in the mishap, AAP has also echoed voices and pains of the helpless citizens and activists.

He also reminds that they have consistently and relentlessly waged war against the brazen hill-cutting, the filling up of low-lying lands and other violations of environmental norms by unscrupulous builders and real estate sharks in connivance with local politicians and bureaucrats.

“The tragic and needless loss of lives in this completely avoidable incident is yet another eye-opener for all of us regarding the criminal politician-builder-bureaucrat nexus that, cutting across party lines, permits structures to come up in flagrant violation of all environmental norms and building regulations stipulated by law”, stated Waghela.
