Luizinho became CM to form Experts’ Com; I didn't: CM

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has flatly denied that he has formed or agreed to form any experts’ committee to break the impasse on the issue of truck transportation rates of iron ore.

“Congress leader Luizinho Faleiro suddenly became the CM and announced the committee, not me”, he told goanews.com.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Luizinho Faleiro, after meeting the CM yesterday evening, had told the media that Parsekar had agreed to his suggestion of forming an experts’ committee to study the issue.

“I have been dealing with the issue for the last three months. I don’t need to know what the issue is. He (Faleiro) is new to this issue, not me”, said Parsekar.

He also felt that media persons could have confirmed with him the facts.

Parsekar however agreed that Faleiro had made a suggestion to form an experts’ committee and come out with an amicable solution.

As Faleiro told the media yesterday, the committee would comprise of mining department officials, chartered accountants, representatives of Goa Mineral Ore Exporters’ Association and the truck owners.

“I was surprised to see Faleiro announcing the committee on my behalf. He was welcome to suggest it, but that does not mean I agreed”, said Parsekar.

According to CM, the issue could be resolved only after talking to both the parties and make them agree at a common point.

He is also hopeful of breaking the impasse.

In 3 years time the Goa government is not able to give alternate jobs to truck owners who are Goans. I believe most of the truck drivers are migrants. So many migrants are employed in Goa, which is evident that Goa has many jobs. It appears that the government is purposefully does not look alternative ways for give employment to mining dependent Goans because it wants to start mining so that the mining companies make money. The government will do many things to help the mining companies make money because these companies give donation to the political parties which form government. Capitalist buy political parties and these political parties after coming to power make rules so that the capitalist earn more money.
