Vishwajeet complains against Parrikar of leaking PAC report

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has lodged a complaint with the speaker of the Legislative Assembly against the Leader of Opposition, Manohar Parrikar, for leaking information from Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on illegal mining in the state.

"PAC has yet to table its report on the floor of the House. It cannot selectively leak information," Rane said, talking to the PTI.

He said he filed a complaint against Parrikar today, but it was not in the form of a breach of privilege motion.

Parrikar heads the PAC which investigated the multi-crore illegal mining scam, brought to the light by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

Rane said that Parrikar had been misusing his powers as a PAC chairman and issuing directions to the officers.

"All information from PAC is leaked. You cannot do this. The report has to be tabled on the floor of the House (first)," he said.

The report, which speaks of illegal mining and evasion of royalty on the exported ore, is expected to be tabled in the Assembly on October 5.

Earlier in the day, Parrikar told reporters that the report would be ready by October 3 or 4.

Report says that the royalty on the ore worth Rs 3,500 crore which was exported from the state in the last five years was evaded.

Well said VP, people are indeed fed up and they want to know who is involved and how. Alemao says he was only a contractor, but as a reasonable and law-abiding man he should have checked if he was being contracted by the 'illegal' guys. If not, he is also a party to the crime, and should be dealt with accordingly.

Vishwajeet is afraid that all his 'black deeds' will be out in the public now. So he is trying to manipulate the procedures, and of course he has hi big daddy ' senior Rane' to help him with that.

In the interest of Goa guys like Parrikar should take a lead on this and see that law takes its own course.

People are fed up of the technicalities...The main issue is to punish the corrupt at high places who have been looting the Land for personal gains oblivious of the damage their illicit activities are causing...
