Calangute secretary, clerk suspended

The government today suspended the secretary and the clerk of Calangute panchayat for manipulating the delimitation process for panchayat elections.
The Bardez BDO and the talathi are also expected to follow the suit.
The action was initiated by the state election commission after the gross manipulation was identified in the corrigendum issued for delimitation of certain wards of the Calangute panchayat.
Director of Panchayats accordingly today suspended Calangute panchayat secretary Subodh Prabhu and clerk Fatima Fernandes.
Action against Bardez BDO Shivprasad Naik and talathi Mahesh Samant has also been processed.
