CRG producing film on child abuse

Children’s Rights in Goa is producing a film – Niragas - on child sexual abuse.
The short film highlights the impact of abuse on the child.
“We are producing the film to create awareness on the issue of child sexual abuse and prevent the cases of child sexual abuse”, said Dr Nishtha Desai, director of CRG.
The CRG plans to take this film to all the schools as well as villages all over Goa.
The muhurat of the film was held recently at People’s High School in Panaji, in the presence of Anandi Surlekar, in-charge of the People’s Primary School.
Ashish Nagvekar, Goa’s prominent theatre personality, has written the story and directing the film.
Sainath Parab is the cinematographer.
Dipti Nagvekar is the assistant director.
Eminent actors like Nilesh Mahale, Devidas Amonkar, Ajit Kamat, Swati Kantak, Prashanti Ajgaonkar, Salil Naik, Mayur Mayenkar are acting in the film.
The main role of a child actor is performed by Apeksha Kamat, along with another child artist Rucha Prabhudesai and around 60 students of the theatre group of the People’s High School.
