Scrap Mopa & face election: GOD

Goans Only for Dabolim has threatened to teach a lesson to both the BJP and the Congress in forthcoming Parliamentary elections, if Mopa air port is not scrapped before that.
The warning came while the GOD moved from Salcete to Tiswadi, calling it moving from South to North Goa, with its public meetings.
The meeting was held in Taleigao on Sunday.
Fr Eremito Rebello, the GOD convenor, made it clear through the warning their tactic to pressurize the political parties by using forthcoming election.
Perhaps this is the reason the political leaders from Salcete, especially belonging to the Congress, have made a volte face on the issue by suddenly developing hostile approach to Mopa air port.
Even at yesterday’s meeting held at Taleigao community centre was attended by St Cruz MLA Jennifer Monseratte and Panaji Mayor Surendra Furtado – both from the Congress, besides other Congress corporators.
Fr Rebello said that Dabolim would be able to handle total 95 lakh passengers after its expansion, which is enough till 2035.
“Goa thus does not need another air port at least for the next 25 years”, he said.
He as well as other speakers alleged that Mopa is not the air port but a land scam.
Rajendra Kakodkar, Swati Kerkar, Siddhartha Karapurkar, Sandip Kamble and Celsa Fernandes also spoke at the meeting.
Mopa will not only close the Dabolim Airport but also Mopa will make Goans to go hungry with the Drought which will occur by losing the fertile land and farmers. Mopa will take huge fertile land, which will be very bad for Goa. The tragedy happened to the people of Khedernath can happened to the people of Goa, if Mopa starts. Stop Mopa. Save Goa.
MOPA WILL BRING DISASTER TO WHOLE GOA. IT WILL TAKE THE LIVELIHOOD OF THE GOAN FARMERS. IT WILL TAKE THE DABOLIM AIRPORT OF THE GOAN TRAVELERS. MOPA WILL CLOSE THE DABOLIM AIRPORT. MOPA WILL CLOSE THE GOA FARMING.
