Action only if Justice Shah indicts Digambar: Brar
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 28 September 2011 21:45 ISTAction against chief minister Digambar Kamat would be taken by Congress president Sonia Gandhi only if Justice M B Shah’s report indicts him in illegal mining, clarified the Congress high command today.
Jasmeet Singh Brar, the Goa observer, dismissed the possibility any leadership change at this stage.
He arrived in Goa today afternoon along with national general secretary Sudhakar Reddy.
The scheduled Congress Legislature Party however was cancelled last minute.
Instead, Brar and Reddy preferred to meet the Congress MLAs individually, the system normally followed at the time of electing or changing the leader.
Brar however denied that the issue of leadership change was discussed with the party legislators, after his meeting at a resort in South Goa.
“No report has indicted the chief minister or anybody in illegal mining till date”, pointed out Brar.
Brar and Reddy however are expected to submit a detailed report on illegal mining to party president Sonia Gandhi.
They would leave for Delhi tomorrow.
