Mickky refuses to respect Guv, walks out during her speech
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 11 January 2016 17:37 ISTGoa Vikas Party leader and Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco not only walked out when Governor Mridula Sinha started her speech today but did not even rise on his feet when she entered the Assembly hall.
“Why should I respect her when she does not respect an MLA”, asked Mickky while talking to goanews.com.
His anger against the lady Governor goes back to the mercy petition he had made to her while he was imprisoned for six months for slapping a government officer on duty in 2006.
“I did not mind rejecting my mercy petition, but she did not even bother to answer my petition”, he recalled.
According to him, the question of respecting such a governor does arise who does not respect the MLA.
Mickky came across the Governor in the House today for the first time after he was released from the jail after serving jail term of over four months, till October last year.
Mickky had resigned as a short-term minister on 2 April last year after his sentence by the lower court was upheld by the Supreme Court on 30 March.
However, after absconding for almost two months, he had surrendered on 2 June and was sent to Sada sub-jail.
The BJP government, which he supported right from its formation in 2012, had sought his pardon but Governor Sinha had declined the plea.
While protesting against Governor Sinha’s action, Mickky however was not committal on also opposing the BJP-led coalition government.
“My support would be issue-based, I am not at anybody’s mercy”, he told goanews.com.
Mickky has a colleague from Benaulim – Caitu Silva – also in the Assembly to represent two-member GVP.
What Mickey had done is wrong. since she is a woman he should a least respect her, forget about Governor of Goa Mickley don't know to respect women
