Raymond D’Sa is the Congress candidate in Cortalim bye-election.
GPCC president Subhash Shirodkar confirmed that he would file his nomination tomorrow.
Former Navelim MLA Churchill Alemao has said he would fully support the Congress candidate.
Churchill had earlier thrown his hat in the ring, while threatening to quit the party to contest from Cortalim, if not given a ticket.
But later he had backtracked after party observers Sudhakar Reddy and J S Brar had met him.
Shirodkar said names of neither Churchill nor Cynthia D’Silva had been sent to the high command for approval.
“Only one name of D’Sa was sent and it has been approved”, he said.
It needs to be seen what strategy now Mickky Pacheco’s Goa Vikas Party and the United Goans Democratic Party plays after this announcement.
Mickky, the Nuvem MLA, has two legislators in the House and is supporting the BJP-led government from outside.
His party was in second position in last Assembly election, which made later Matanhy Saldhana victorious.
His wife Alina is now contesting on the BJP ticket, after Matanhy suddenly died due to heart attack.
Anything coming out of Mickky Pacheco`s mouth,must be treated with irrelevance and incredulity or un-believable
At the State elections he promised to field candidates in all 40 Constituenies. IN the end he only fielded less than a dozen and only won 2 seats for all his efforts and money.
He then went on to do deals with the UGDP,knowing the UGDP are no longer trusted by Goans and are a waste of Votes & time & money.The 2 so called Executives ,are not trusted by the Goan Public either.This demonstrates Mickkys bad judgement.
Mickky also has a gripe with Manohar Parrikar, as he was not given a Cabinet Post or Ministerial position.For this, he believes he could cause Parrikar to reconsider his options.
Mickky should know better, that within the next 5 years or term of this Legislature, he could be jailed for some of his crimes.He tops the table of crimes committed by MLA`s.There are about 10 cases pending.Surely one will stick him in jail.
As for Raymond D`sa ,his chances are as remote as Churchill becoming the President of India !!
