Anna to launch nationwide campaign from Goa on 13 May

Anna Hazare, the crusader against corruption, will kick off the nationwide campaign against corruption from Goa on 13 May.

Satish Sonak of India Against Corruption said Hazare would address a public meeting at Panaji's historic Azad Maidan at 5 pm on May 13.

Besides Hazare, the other anti-corruption crusaders like Kiran Bedi, Swami Agnivesh, Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia will also accompany the veteran Gandhian on his Goa trip.

Prior to the public rally, they would also participate in public debates in Margao and Vascco, organised by the youngsters.

Sonak said "Hazare is addressing the Panaji meeting while others will be present for meetings at cities like Vasco and Margao on the same day".

Swami Agnivesh and Arvind Kejriwal will be addressing a public meeting at Margao on May 13 while Manish Sisodia and Kiran Bedi at Vasco on the same day, he said.

He added that the issues like Lok Pal Bill and that of Goa Lokayukta bill will be talked about by Hazare during the public meeting.

The drafting committee on Jan Lok Pal Bill, which Hazare is one of the member, has so far held three meetings in Delhi.

"Be Fearless" - Anna Hazare

This is really great. I participated in Anna Hazares fast along with my several supreme court lawyer friends. The atmosphere at Jantar Mantar was magical. We saw how the Govt bent before public pressure. ITs nice to know that anna is going to start agitation from Goa. Goa desperately needs a lok ayukta. Also nationalisation of mining by the state govt, restrictions on sale of land to non goans, law against human trafficking, prostitution and paedeophilia, Anti drugs law, anti gambling law, nationalisation of surplus land by state govt to be given only to goans on long term lease as per requirement and a law for protection of forest and environment of the state.

There are several eminent goans and retired judges worthy to be a lok ayukta. I feel even religious bodies should not remain neutral and the church as well as hindu mutts should send their representatives to lok ayukta body. IT is only when the elders will keep a watch the the cat will not be able to eat the cream.

Good to see the anti corruption campaign being flagged off from Goa. When the common man on the streets --justifies this start of cleansing the system of corruption beginning from Goa--one realises the level of degeneration in the last 50 years achieved by us.......
