No divided camps over Modi: BJP

There are no pro-Modi and anti-Modi camps exist in the BJP, claimed BJP spokesperson and national president Rajnath Singh’s political advisor Sudhanshu Trivedi.

He however could not tell the media why the Parliamentary Board did not meet and when it would meet.

“The Parliamentary Board members are already sitting at the office bearers’ meeting”, he said at the press conference while the delayed meeting of the office bearers was on.

He also did not disclose whether Narendra Modi would be announced as the campaign chief of the BJP for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

“You will know about the decision as and when it is taken” was a standard reply to each and every question in this regard asked to him.

Trivedi however strongly denied that the BJP house is divided over the issue of either making Modi the campaign chief or projecting the Gujarat chief minister as the prime ministerial candidate.

Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar, who is hosting the party’s national conclave, had admitted yesterday there are multiple opinions within the party over the issue.

“He is the chief minister and he is free to say what he feels”, said Trivedi, brushing aside public admission over the divided house of the BJP over Modi.

BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu also told media persons that everything is normal and media should not read too much in party’s veteran leader L K Advani not attending today’s meeting.

The national executive meeting of 360 members would begin tomorrow at 10.30 am with party chief Rajnath Singh addressing the gathering.

Modi is expected to address the national executive on Sunday afternoon, before the national conclave ends.

Both the leaders would later also address the Goa workers’ convention on Sunday evening.

Trivedi said the party would take two resolutions – one on national security and national pride and another one on political situation and corruption.

The national conclave would also review the party activities and chalk out organizational strategies.
