FC Goa and Palomi: Star attractions of Carnival 2016
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 06 February 2016 12:18 ISTFC Goa team and ‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ fame Palomi Ghosh will be the star attractions of four-day Carnival parades beginning today evening from the capital city of Panaji.
Palomi Ghose, the lead actress of internationally acclaimed Konkani film Nachom-ia Kumpasar will be seen greeting the crowd along with King Momo Shalom Sardinha.
The model-turned-actor has literally become a heartthrob of Goans with her spectacular performance in her debut film.
On the other hand, another heartthrob of Goans, the FC Goa football team will also participate in the Carnival, but at the Samba Square set up at the Panaji municipal garden.
The team would be sitting at a specially built lounge, where football fans could meet their favourite soccer players.
The organisers have also erected mini goal posts at the Samba Square for the children, who can display their football skills.
King Momo Shalom Sardinha will also visit the Samba Square.
There should be a debate to ascertain whether Carnival is a Goan or Portuguese festival. When so called ultra nationalists are pouncing on Goans with Portuguese passport and calling them criminals why should we continue with this so called festival which is celebrated by former Portuguese colonies like Brazil.
