Baba Ramdev supports primary education in local language

Amidst heated discussion on the Medium of Instruction (MOI) in Goa, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev on Friday rendered his support in favour of local languages – Konkani and Marathi, as MOI.
Briefing media in Panaji, Swami Ramdev said that he is not against English but Indian languages should be given first preference as medium of instruction.
The parents and educationists in Goa are divided over the issue of MOI. While one section supports English, another section is professing mothertongue – Konkani or Marathi, as medium of instruction.
Swami Ramdev is down in Goa to address anti corruption rally organized by Bharat Swabhiman Trust.
The Yoga Guru said that almost every country has adopted its local language as medium of instruction. “Your own language helps you to stay in connection with your culture,” he said.
He also alleged that attempts to back English was goaled to destroy local languages like Konkani and Marathi in the region.
The issue of MOI has taken centre stage in the state as education department is gearing up to enact Right to Education (RTE) act.
Firing another anti-corruption salvo at the Indian political system, Swami Ramdev on Friday alleged that 99 percent of the governments in India are corrupt and anti-people.
“Central and State governments does not want to change the land acquisition act which displaces lakhs of people. 99 percent of the governments are corrupt,” Ramdev said.
Land acquisition act is being used to harass people and rob their land, he said participating in the interaction organized by Goa Chamber and Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
The Yoga Guru was down in Goa to address anti-corruption rally, which is third in the row of his tirade against the black money, corruption and anti-illegal mining in the country.
Ramdev said that almost one-third of land in Uttar Pradesh is being acquired by the state government, which will affect 40 per cent of the food production in the state. “What will happen to the country, if such things continue?,” he questioned.
He also urged them to join Bharat Swamibham Trust’s national tirade against corruption, black money and illegal mining. “We will be fighting back the forces which are powerful and wealthy. But we have decided that we will be successful,” Ramdev said.
The Yoga Guru said that the challenges before the nation are not less dangerous. “I do admit that money matters but money should not be everything in life,” he said talking about his campaign.
“The main issue is our corrupt political system. We have law and order in which corrupt people are not punished,” he said responding to a question during interaction.
“There are many people who does not want corruption to be abolished,”
Swami Ramdev said lauding the Supreme Court for acting as a deterrent for the corruption. “People have started believing in Supreme Court,” he added.
Participating in the interaction, Ramdev today appealed the businessmen in Goa to adopt Swadeshi in their personal and business life, so as to save crores of rupees from flushed out of Goa.
“Money of the country should not go out of the country. Adopt Swadeshi in your personal and business life,” Ramdev told the gathering at Goa Chamber Commerce and Industries (GCCI) on Friday.
He said that indigenous materials are available in the state, which can be used extensively by businessmen in their work. “This way, you will save lot of money from being going outside the state,” the Yoga Guru said.
In his one hour long interaction, which was laced with classes on breathing techniques, Swami Ramdev adviced self discipline, self confidence and hard work to 50-odd businessmen who were present there.

With the following Guru Ramdev, has with the people, the one most important thing he can teach us all is hardcore discipline, not to take any money that does not belong to one, nor give to anyone that does not belong to the taker.
Entering politics, will damage his own reputation because of others, who certainly he would not be able to control. But fighting the evils of corruption from the outside, he would also be a strong spiritual and moral pillar to everyone around.
