Anant Shet elected Dy Speaker unopposed

Mayem MLA Ananat Shet was elected the deputy speaker unopposed today.

He has been elected from Mayem for the seond consecutive time as the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA.

Since there was only one application for the election, speaker Rajendra Arlekar declared him elected unopposed.

There were two applications proposing Shet, one by chief minister Manohar Parrikar and Dilip Parulekar and anoter one by health minister Laxmikant Parsekar and Pramod Sawant.

after election, chief minister Parrikar and opposition leader Pratapsing Rane escorted Shet to his seat.
