No SSC or ITI? No Govt service!

Giving a big blow to over 40 per cent drop out rate in schools that cannot pass out Standard X, Goa government has decided not to recruit anybody in government service who has not passed SSC or ITI.

At the same time, the cabinet today also gave a Diwali gift to all the D Class employees by upgrading them to C class with retrospective effect from 1st January 2006.

This would be followed by implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, said Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.

As every 26th Goan is a government servant, the whole state was awaiting 7th Pay Commission implementation as a Diwali gift.

“It would now come any time. More important was the upgradation of D class employees”, said Parsekar.

Implementation of this recommendation was pending since 6th Pay Commission.

While upgrading the existing employees, Goa government however has decided not to recruit any more the ‘uneducated’ class of Goans in government service.

“The government has decided to outsource jobs like Mali, Sweeper etc to the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation”, said chief secretary R K Srivastava.
