Quepem Coll and Antruz Ghudyo retain 1st-2nd positions at Mahotsav

Government College of Quepem made it for the second consecutive year as the winner of the Goa Yuva Mahotsav while Antruz Ghudyo sprung up in the second position with the last competition of ‘Mushtaiki’.

As a result, St Xavier’s College of Mapusa was pushed down to the third position, though their performance has been exemplary at the 21st Goa Yuva Mahotsav.

Both the groups retained their positions for the second consecutive year.

Out of total 50 groups, 27 groups however could not win a single competition.

But their spirit was not reduced at all. In fact they said that they participate just not for prizes but it’s a festival to preserve and protect our culture.

With growing response for this Goa’s biggest festival of performing art, the 13 competitions have been divided into two groups – Colleges & higher secondary schools and open groups.

In spite of this, two colleges made it in the first three this time – Government College, Quepem and St Xavier’s College, Mapusa.
