DM’s College sweeps contest, all 3 plays first, win 15 first prizes, total 20

 

DM’s College of Arts, Science and Commerce of Assagao, Mapusa swept the inter-collegitate one act play competition by securing best play prizes in all the three languages – Konkani, Marathi and English while winning 15 first prizes and total 20 prizes.

The state-level competition was organised by Goa Kala Academy.

While one act plays in all the three languages also won first prizes for direction, both the original scripts – Gautam Gaude in Konkani and Prashanti Talpankar in English also won the best script prizes. Marathi script was not original.

Konkani one act play won total nine prizes, including seven first prizes. Marathi play won six prizes including four first prizes. English won five prizes including four first prizes.

Following are the 20 prizes won by DM’s College:

KONKANI – MANATLYA MANAT (मनांतल्या मनांत)  

  1. Best Play
  2. Best Direction: Chandru Govekar
  3. Best Script: Gautam Gaude
  4. Best Music: Chandru Govekar
  5. Best Lights: Anesh Bhate
  6. Best Make Up: Anant Naik
  7. Acting (Female)-  First prize: Vidya Pliarnkar
  8. Acting (Female)  - Consolation: Renuka Kambli
  9. Acting (Male) - Consolation: Yogesh Shetgaonkar

 

   

MARATHI – MANJULA ( मंजुळा) 

  1. Best Play
  2. Best Direction: Shrinivas Usgaonkar
  3. Best Music: Girish Abhyankar
  4. Acting (Female) - First: Namrata Gadekar
  5. Acting (Female) – Consolation: Prajakta Naik
  6. Acting (Female) – Consolation: Durgesh Nandini Desai

 

ENGLISH – ROBO

  1. Best Play
  2. Best Direction: Prashanti Talpankar
  3. Best Script: Prashanti Talpankar
  4. Acting (Male) – First: Jonathan Paes
  5. Acting (Female) – Second: Dipika Jha
