'Nachom-ia' dances as it wins three more international awards

Nachom-ia Kumpasar, a Konkani film, once again excelled at international film fest, now winning three awards including best direction award to Goan filmmaker Bardroy Barreto.

The awards of Film Fest International at Milan were declared on Saturday night.

Bardroy Barreto, Goa’s young filmmaker who made the Konkani film through crowd funding, won the award for Best Director of a Foreign Language Feature Film.

The film, inspired by Goan musicians in the Bollywood film industry, is based on the life of Goa’s two ace artists – musician Chris Perry and singer Lorna.

The musical film also won the award for Best Original Score, to Chris Perry, Ronnie Monseratte and Jacob Pereira.

Similarly, the film was lauded with the award for Best Sound Design to Sanjay Maurya, Allwin Rego and Alok De.

Details of the award are also available on the website of Film Fest International, named in English as Let's dance to the Rhythm.

The Konkani film, which has made waves in Goa while also winning the prestigious National Award in production design, was nominated at Milan in five categories.
