Enjoy Goan folk, dance, music... at IFFI
23 November 2004 23:26 IST Goa's culture and heritage will get an international exposure during the international film festival of India (IFFI). Entertainment society of Goa who organises this festival in association with directorate of film festivals (DFF) has tailor-made the schedule to provide platform for Goan cultural performances.
IFFI will be held between November 29 to December 9 in the Panaji.
From well known Konkani plays to fusion Jazz concerts; Goan folk dance to Salsa dance; Tattoo making to face painting; bangle maker to balloon sculpture; juggler to Hair braider, entertainment society of Goa promises entertainment to everyone.
Goan-based national artists like Ajit kadkade, Shaunak Abhisheki, Yogiraj Borkar, Praveen Gaonkar, Sumeda Desai, Gauri Bhat and narendra Kothambikar would showcase their rich culture of Goa through their performance. special stages are put up in the IFFI venue to have special evenings with these renowned singers.
The small time folk art troupes virtually spread all across the state will et an opportunity to be a part of IFFI, this time.
These groups from different villages would perform folk art forms like ranmalle, jagor, suvari, fugadi, gof besides others.
Large amphi theatre in Kala Academy would showcase various Konkani dramas and musical performances. Bhangarallem Goem by veteran konkani musician Poornanand Chari, special Indian music and dance recital by Kala Academy, Konkani drama Sangod, Marathi play Lekure udand Zali will take up the stage.
We have many talent in Goa may be some of them
hiden due to lack of support. Goa Governement never
ever support those talent who embrasse the konkani
music. Goa Government only very much interested to
support Marathi lover either front or back door. But
believe most of the goans does not bothered at all
they see their own wallet to filled upto edge.I would like
to wish and congrats to Dy SP Sammy Tavares for this
album called Police Porjek.It is mavelous and
wonderful producation, however it gives me pleasure
to hear again and again. The most hit number one
should never ignored that is "Asilo" may be I am
wrong title that song.. This song sung by Mr. Xavier
Gomes bravo to Xavier, Sammy, Music Composer
etc. Such album make sense for the next generation to
followup the life of our parents who kick them in
asilo.
