G7 returns empty-handed

Throwing away all the predictions to the wind, the crucial issue of political instability has been postponed after Easter. Earlier, it was postponed after the Assembly session.

Chief minister Digambar Kamat as well as members of G7 returned from Delhi today afternoon, without taking any decision.

The G7 had earlier threatened to topple the government on finance bill if their demands were not met. However, the central leaders had succeeded in persuading them to postpone it after the session, thereby saving the government from any casualty.

Accordingly, the local leaders had gone to Delhi yesterday. However, no final decision could be taken since Congress president Sonia Gandhi would be out of town till Saturday.

"We have discussed the issue with our leaders. But no decision has been taken on anything", confirmed the chief minister.

After the G7 met civil aviation minister and NCP leader Praful Patel in Delhi yesterday, the central leader had a meeting with chief minister Kamat, Congress observer Hariprasad and Goa PCC chief Subhash Shirodkar.

They once again met in the evening, to discuss the issues raised by G7 members. It is learnt that the G7 has also demanded change in the leadership.

"We have put forward our demands once again. They have told us to hold on till Easter", said revenue minister and NCP leader Jose Philip D'Souza.

According to sources, all the three Congress leaders also had a meeting with senior party leader Ahmed Patel, political secretary of Mrs Gandhi.

Since the issue of leadership change was also raised by G7, it is learnt that it has been now left to Mrs Gandhi.

A senior leader however told goanews.com there cannot be leadership change because alliance partners are demanding it.

Who should be the leader is strictly an internal party matter and Congress cannot change its leaders because of outside forces, the leader added.

its great to have people like menino g p fernandes, sanjay sawant desai ,vishvas prabhudesai, goe ganja, jose cunha who are regular people who sacrifice their precious time to put comments to highlight the plight of the goans and what is happening in goa

but these so called leaders have no love for goa or agenda of welfare for goans. they are fighting for they own survival which gives them money ,power, and wealth

when election time comes they are wolves in sheep's clothing fooling goans pretending to be Dr jack DE sequire

i appeal to all goans from north or south and from all religions to unite and say enough is enough

last i could suggest it's time to look for a leader like dr oscar rebello to lead goans to save goa from destructions and to form a political party which saves goa from disaster

Hello Sanjay – Believe me I have not come here to make a permanent abode for myself. I’ll very definitely come back to my Goa and live the rest of my life there. Let me first make some money to live a proper life in Goa. My family is in Goa back at home. We don’t get Jobs back in Goa hence we have to go here and there in search of a living but not for a permanent living. We the Goans in fact don’t get any support to do something and make a living in Goa. It is also very wonderful to hear that the people are agitating. I tried a lot when I was in Goa to awake the people but my efforts were in vain because people would say yes on the face and do otherwise when time came. Anyway I shall always stand up for truth and betterment of our Goa just like you, Vishwas Prabhudesai, Joe Ganja and the others on line here. Menino

Dear mr. minino

what you are saying is correct and people of Goa are also agitating but that voice is very small, we need people like you to strengthen this movement so please come back to Goa and guide us.

Absolutely Mr. Kamat the Hon. Chief Minister should take a tough stance towards those who try to topple the Government for silly reasons. Let us go into the characters of Mickky Pacheco, Monserrate, Dhavlikar Brothers, Vishwajit Rane and others involved in this G7.

First of all I would like to tell my MLA Baba (Vishwajit Rane) to distance himself from these fellows - the remaining G6. Baba has got good intellect and good qualities inherited from his father. He should not jeopardize his career mixing with these unwanted and rubbish G6 fellows. This way he will ruin his reputation and the good qualities he has. He should forthwith stop supporting the remaining gang of G6 lunatics. Mickky - take his history and his background, other than running after money and looting the nation he has nothing else to do. He is a vain fellow totally unfit to serve the people. Monserrate is as all knows LESS EDUCATION NO USE OF EXPLANATION fellow. The biggest CROOKS among these G6’s are the Dhavlikar brothers. WOLVES IN SHEEP’S CLOTHINGS. They are involved in every anti-social activity from looting to terrorism in the state (Sanatan). People of Goa, it is high time to get rid of these fellows who disrupt the whole administration of Goa. STAND UP UNITE, IGNORE MONEY FEEDS & ELECT PROPER PEOPLE to power.

Yes Mr. Cunha, I have done whatever little possible to fight the evil forces that are out to destroy this beautiful State, but fight against the corrupt becomes difficult due to selfishness of few of us voters who become more interested in what they gain from the loot gathered by the corrupt leaders rather than vote for the balanced development of Goa. Otherwise there was no reason why the same corrupt and criminals continue to come to power again and again in spite of the scores of criminal and corruption cases against them? I am sure a section of we voters, their personal gains are far above the destruction caused to our motherland!

No politician will leave his chair easily. The chair brings with it all the power, money and wealth! It is unfortunate that huge public funds are wasted in all this unnecessary exercise, as this money and resources could be used for lot of constructive works!
