"Send back persons of unknown origin": BJP
PTI, PANAJI | 01 March 2012 19:21 ISTWith two more days to go for Goa assembly polls, the BJP has requested the Election Commission to ask persons with unknown origin and those not linked to their constituency to vacate the area in order to prevent bogus voting in the state.
Party leaders fear that bogus voters are being hoarded in various constituencies by political rivals, and they would be used on March 3.
BJP has also claimed that flying squads in constituencies like Sanguem, Valpoi, Poriem and Cuncolim are non effective because of the connivance of local police with the ministers, contesting elections.
Mesquita has demanded that CRPF should be deployed for ministers with Z category to curb such things.
"Even the current batch of policemen with flying squads should be replaced by a new one," he said.
Considering the volatile situation in a few constituencies, the party has demanded that seats including St Andre, Taleigao, Shiroda, Sanguem, Valpoi and Cuncolim should be declared sensitive.
