Kisna to be released on 21 Jan
30 November 2004 23:14 IST Kisna, Subhash Ghai’s next sensation, has become a major attraction at the 35th International Film Festival that began here yesterday.
The film, starring Vivek Oberoi and dancer-turned-actress Isha Sharvani, will be released on 21 January.
However, A R Rehman stole the show yesterday by playing two songs from the film at the opening ceremony.
``I would have asked to screen the film here if it was complete”, said Ghai later at a press conference today. A trailer was also screened for the media.
Ghai has come down with the main team, including singers Udit Narain, Madhushree, Sunita Sarathi and co-musician Ismail Darbar.
The story depicts an Indo-British relationship and a stranger’s experience in India. Amidst political hatred, the love story tries to bind two nations, a la Veer Zara.
Besides the fusion of Indo-British music and songs in English and Hindi composed by Rehman-Ismail duo, the star attraction would also be Isha, who has made a debut through Kisna.
”I have spent lots of it on music itself”, said Ghai. The movie sings Javed Akhtar’s lyrics, composed jointly by Rehman and Ismail, the two music legends of Bollywood, assisted by a drum-giant Shivmani.
Ghai is equally thrilled about his new find – Isha. “We found her after scouting around several schools in Mumbai”, he quips.
