AAP set to take off in Goa with Kejriwal rally on 22 May

The Aam Aadmi Party is all set for its third experiment, after Delhi and Punjab, in Goa, with Delhi Chief Minister addressing a rally next month end.

AAP leader Ashutosh today announced that Kejriwal would address the rally on 22 May in Panaji.

The new attraction for the Goan youth plans to contest all the 40 seats in the forthcoming Assembly election.

After sweeping state election in Delhi and then winning four Parliamentary seats in Punjab, AAP is now concentrating on a tourist state.

“We are emerging as the most viable alternative in Goa when people have already rejected the Congress and disappointed with the ruling BJP”, says Pankaj Gupta, who is practically camping in Goa.

He said the process of identifying candidates has already begun while it would gain momentum after Kejriwal’s rally.

“We never give tickets to corrupt, criminal and communal persons. Having good character is our basic criteria for the candidate”, said Ashutosh.

He also ruled out any pre or post-poll alliance with any political party.

Though AAP is still undecided over projecting a CM-candidate, he assured that it would be definitely a better candidate than the kind of the chief ministers Goa had in the recent past.

Lots of educated youth have already started rallying around the party, which evolved through Anna Hazare’s India Against Corruption movement.

While promoting creative programmes to gain respectability among the people, AAP volunteers are seen moving in all the constituencies, holding corner meetings and even from house to house.

Surprisingly, the coastal belt and especially the minority community is also seen getting attracted towards AAP, including the crucial Salcete belt.

Goa and Punjab would go for Assembly elections together.

After Delhi, AAP is emerging as a major political force in Punjab as all the political parties are publicly admitting that it is their prime political rival.
