Goa would implement 7th Pay, provision made: CM

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today confirmed that Goa would implement 7th Pay Commission recommendation to the employees of Goa government and aided institutes.

He said the additional financial burden would be Rs 72 crore per month, which means Rs 864 crore annually.

Replying to the question raised by Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, Parsekar informed the House that his government had already made a provision of Rs 2553 crore to pay the salaries.

The salary expenditure otherwise is Rs 1946 crore, he said.

Giving a break-up, CM said the salary burden would increase from Rs 213 crore to Rs 272 crore with an additional burden of Rs 59 crore.

Similarly, he said the additional burden of pension would be Rs 13 crore per month, presuming 25% raise to the existing pension amount of Rs 52 crore per month.

He dismissed the allegation made by Sardesai that Goa would lead into financial crunch due to implementation of the 7th pay commission recommendations.

“Don’t you want me to pay the 7th Pay Commission salary”, he asked Sardesai.

“I am not opposing, I just want to know how you will pay”, replied Sardesai.

seventh pay commission is not for poor people, who are homeless and forced to reside in Government accommodation. Only house rent is enhanced in seventh pay report. Poor people who were waiting since from years to see this day but for them is the black day. Some people salaries will come down on implementation of seventh pay and no body will do any thing. The trick played by the commission to widen the gap of poorer to poorer.

Now we are keeping hope only on Goan CM as he come up from poor family and had seen what are the struggles. Even jobless people live happily by doing any day to-day work & business.
