Goa’s illegal houses could be legal by next month
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 12 February 2016 21:03 ISTGoa government is all set to regularize ‘illegal’ houses built till February 2014, but not all, in the budget Assembly session next month.
A five-day Assembly session is scheduled from 14 to 18 March.
After the cabinet today cleared the bill of regularizing unauthorized houses, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said government would also act against the illegal houses built after 28 February 2014.
The long-debated legislation of legalizing illegal houses is finally ready for presentation in the House.
The salient features of the proposed bill are as follows:
All houses need to have valid documents.
Hoses built in Government land.
Houses built on Communidade land.
Houses built on private land with No Objection from the land owner.
Houses built on a joint family land.
The CM also made it clear that houses built on roadside or in the Coastal Regulation Zone will not be regularized.
