Wagh airlifted to Hinduja hospital in Mumbai
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 18 August 2016 21:56 ISTDeputy speaker Vishnu Wagh was today evening airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment.
He is being taken to Hinduja hospital in Mumbai by air ambulance from Dabolim airport.
Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said decision has been taken after consulting the experts at GMC as well as Hinduja hospital.
“We will do everything possible to save him”, he added.
Wagh was rushed to GMC hospital on Monday after his blood pressure had suddenly zoomed up while he was attending a programme at Kala Academy.
After reviving him from sudden stoppage of heart for some time, the artist-turned-politician was put on a ventilator, with sedatives.
“His condition is the same what it was on the day he was brought to the hospital. It has not deteriorated but also has not improved”, CM Parsekar told the media in Vasco.
The CM rushed to the GMC today early morning as soon as he landed in Goa from his Delhi visit.
He also convened a high level meeting of the Dean, the HoDs and the brain, heart and kidney experts.
Wagh had been taking bed rest after he had survived a massive heart attack on 14th May.
The doctors at GMC had immediately conducted angiography followed by angioplasty, clearing two blocked arteries.
The Kala Academy chairman was back in action from July and had even organised three-day long round-the-clock Kavya Hotra poetry programme, coinciding with his birthday on 24th July.
From the next day, the St Andre MLA had also participated actively in a three-week long monsoon Assembly session that concluded on 12th August.
