Mickky joining UGDP, wants Luizinho to step down
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 31 October 2016 20:53 ISTWinding up his five-year long experiment of Goa Vikas Party, Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco is going back to the United Goans Democratic Party.
He also wants to merge GVP into the UGDP.
But for alliance with the Congress, he has demanded that state party president Luizinho Faleiro should step down.
“I will leave the decision of merging GVP into the UGDP to my state executive committee members. But if they don’t agree, I will definitely join the UGDP”, said Mickky.
Perhaps he is not sure of the merger also because his colleague and Benaulim MLA Caitu Silva is not with him at this moment.
The GVP had only two legislators in the Assembly and had supported the BJP-led alliance, until Mickky was arrested and told to step down as the minister.
Dr Jorson Fernandes, the UGDP President, also confirmed that Mickky was in talks with them over his joining.
However, he also prefers to leave the decision to his party executive.
“Our general body had given powers to our vice president Radharao Gracias to hold talks in this regard, either to join the party or have alliance of regional parties”, he informed.
According to him, Mickky’s proposal is in tune with the general body.
Mickky however appeared firm on UGDP not having alliance with the Congress until GPCC president Luizinho Faleiro steps down.
“He is being pressurised by the BJP government since they are holding at least three scams of his. How can Congress grow and win seats in such a situation”, he asked.
Small parties always Merge with other Parties. SGF merged with Congress. Better to Vote AAP which will never form alliance with any Party.
