We want Sudin to be next CM: Velingkar

Rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar has said he would like to see MGP leader Sudin Dhawalikar to be the next chief minister of Goa.

He has also confirmed that their new political outfit, Goa Suraksha Manch, would align with the Shivsena.

The seat sharing would be finalised with SS supremo Udhav Thackeray, whose visit to Goa last week was postponed due to BRICS summit.

The rebel group of RSS and the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch however is still waiting for the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party to break ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party and align with the GSM.

“I personally feel Dhawalikar would make a good CM”, said Velingkar.

However, for BBSM, it is conditional.

If the MGP gets more seats than GSM, Dhawalikar would be the CM, or vice versa.

Perhaps this is the offer, he said, the BBSM had made to the MGP as Dhawalikar cannot be the CM in the BJP-MGP alliance.

Though Dhawalikar continues to say that the alliance would continue even in the forthcoming Assembly election, his activity to mobilise candidates continues.

The BBSM went ahead with the formation of GSM after the deadline of 30th September it had served to the MGP ended.

But the MGP has asked for time till the election notification is issued, to decide whether to continue the alliance or break away to fulfil his dream to become the next CM of Goa.

BJP POLITICISING SURGICAL STRIKE

Velingkar also joined the opposition bandwagon to allege that the BJP in Goa is trying to take political advantage of surgical strike across the border in Pakistan, for electoral gains.

He reacted sharply to defence minister Manohar Parrikar’s statement that the RSS ideology inspired him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct surgical strike.

“I am happy to hear that. The only thing I want to ask him is that why the same RSS ideology didn’t inspire him while giving grants to English medium primary schools”, Velingkar asked sarcastically.

Though he admits that Parrikar has not taken credit for the surgical strike, he said the Goa BJP is making all efforts to take political benefit of it for electoral gains.

“Their plan of organising a two-wheeler rally of 9000 people was cancelled because people didn’t respond. And hardly 1500 people turned up for the Mapusa rally, which was aimed at a crowd of 10,000”, he said.
