Babush, Valmiki dare Parrikar to contest and win Panaji
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 03 December 2016 20:03 ISTExpelled Congress MLA Babush Monseratte and Aam Aadmi Party candidate Valmiki Naik have dared defence minister Manohar Parrikar to contest and win the Panaji seat once again.
The occasions as well as reasoning however are different.
Babush has now officially announced his plan to contest from Panaji, at a Panaji workers’ meeting convened last night.
“Defeating Parrikar is my dream. I hope the central leaders send the defence minister back to Goa to contest from Panaji”, he told his workers.
The expelled Congress MLA has decided to float United Goans Party and contest from Panaji, with the support of Congress.
Goa Forward mentor Vijai Sardesai has already welcomed his move and the appeal he made to the Congress to form alliance of like-minded parties to defeat the BJP.
His meeting was yesterday attended also by Panaji Mayor Surendra Furtado and two former mayors – Yatin Parekh and Tony Rodrigues.
AAP candidate Valmiki Naik also seems to be equally confident.
At a press conference, he today strongly objected to Parrikar’s act of chairing a meeting of Goa government officials on the proposal of cashless economy.
“He has now started officially acting as Goa CM. If he is so much interested, he should give up the central ministry, come back to Goa, contest and win from Panaji”, he dared the five-time Panaji MLA.
After Parrikar resigned as the Panaji MLA to take over as the defence minister of the country, Panaji is now being held by BJP legislator and Parrikar’s right-hand man Siddharth Kuncalienker.
BJP should pass JANLOKPAL and come under RTI.
