6 ruling Christian MLAs together in Kerala, Dy CM bursts out at CM: Coincidence?
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 09 April 2016 13:03 ISTIs it a sheer coincidence that six Christian MLAs from the ruling BJP coalition are picnicking together in Kerala while Deputy Chief Minister Francisco D’Souza bursts out against his boss Laxmikant Parsekar?
“There is no politics in our picnic. This was planned long ago. But, yes, I am upset with the chief minister”, D’Souza told goanews.com while speaking from Kochi.
Picnicking with him in the Kerala backwaters are three BJP legislators – Michael Lobo, Glenn Ticlo and Carlos Almeida as well as two independents – fisheries minister Avertano Furtado and Velim MLA Benjamin Silva.
D’Souza said they meet like this quite often as the families ‘culturally’ assimilate well. Right now total 21 family members are picnicking together.
Babush, as he is known in the political circles as well as Bardez, however does not hide his increasing frustration against the manner in which Parsekar is functioning.
“I have expressed my displeasure to the CM. Either he should consult a senior person like me or I am prepared to sit as an MLA”, he told goanews.com.
The Deputy CM is quite upset with the unilateral decisions like transfers Parsekar is taking without consulting him, when it is related either to his departments or his Mapusa constituency.
In a recent secretary-level reshuffle, the CM reallocated portfolios by dividing D’Souza’s portfolios like urban development, town and country planning, revenue, health etc to different secretaries while earlier there was one secretary dealing with it.
“I have no problem in reallocation since it’s his prerogative as the in-charge of General Administration and Personnel. But he should have consulted me beforehand. Manohar Parrikar always did it”, said D’Souza.
He is also upset the way the issue of his recommendation eight months ago to transfer Mapusa deputy collector Pundalik Khorjuvekar, who comes under his revenue department, was handled by CM’s office.
“Forget approving the official note I had put up as a revenue minister, Khorjuvekar got the photo of the inter-ministerial note on his WhatsApp. My official notes are not honoured but somebody’s verbal suggestion is honoured. Is this fair?”, he asked.
In a similar manner, D’Souza is also upset of transferring Khorjuvekar now when all the Bardez MLAs wanted him to be retained and brining back Chandrakant Shetkar, who was transferred because of his alleged corrupt behaviour.
But why is Parsekar acting in this manner without consulting his cabinet colleagues?
“I still can’t locate what it is for. But I can certainly tell you it’s because of vested interest”, said D’Souza.
He terms it as a mockery of Goa administration which he cannot tolerate.
While ending the conversation, he however did not forget to remind once again not to link his six-member picnic to this issue and term the picnic political.
Apparently the BJP boat is sinking and the rats are the first ones preparing to jump ship. Most of these guys have been elected on the support of Hindus and now they are forming their kiristav groups because of cultural similarities blah blah blah, disgusting. Babush who has been hoisted day in and day out at the assembly by the Hinuds from Mapusa should first ask himself what he has done for Mapusa. If he has grievances he should address at the appropriate party forums.
Idiotic writing from a illiterate man. which hindus voted for these MLA's. Rajat you are illiterate hindu . but we Christians don't care for people like you.
