Covid death rate declining, 32-Yr old girl dies

Covid19 deaths in Goa: 1 to 19 of Aug, Sept & Oct '20

It’s a great relief that fewer and fewer people are dying of the Covid19 virus. But also a matter of concern is that young people continue succumbing to the deadly virus.

A 32-year old girl, once again from Salvador do Mundo, died of Covid today after struggling with life at GMC hospital for nine days. The only comorbidity she had was Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Earlier, on 4th October, a 45-year old lady from Salvador do Mundo battled for life for three days but lost. She did not have any comorbidity.

And on 26th September, a 60-year old male from the same village had died after fighting Diabetes Mellitus for 14 long days.

Altogether, five deaths were reported today until the afternoon.

And Sunday reported only three deaths, the lowest number of deaths this month.

The death graph had suddenly zoomed up to 234 last month, after 150 deaths reported in August as Covid19 spread like a wildfire after Chovoth.

But in the last 19 days of this month, this graph seems to be coming down.

The average rate of eight deaths per day last month has also now come down to six per day on an average.

In September, 154 deaths were reported in the first 19 days while it was only 81 in August.

In all, Goa has lost 549 people to date due to the pandemic.
