More than very old, youngsters are dying: Over 100 die of Covid in Sept

 

Unfortunately, Covid19 deaths are not reducing but rising in Goa. This month has crossed the toll of 100 and total deaths have crossed the number of 300. And the pandemic is taking the lives of more youngsters than people over 75 years of age.

The mortality bulletin of today added one more death on 12th September, six more yesterday, and seven deaths till today afternoon, altogether 14.

This includes the previous data of four a day before yesterday and three yesterday. 

Till 14th September afternoon, the toll of this month has now gone to 109. Last month, out of 150, 41 had succumbed to Covid19. This is nearly three times more. 

Covid19, since 22 June, has claimed 304 lives in Goa, including one each from West Bengal and Tamilnadu. There is also one unknown victim. 

YOUNGSTERS DYING

The victims in today’s list include a 26-year old boy from Paroda, Quepem, who was brought dead to the hospital and was found Covid positive. 

Similarly, a 45-year old man from Seraulim in Salcete was also brought dead yesterday.

The last week also witnessed two more deaths of young people, a 28-year old girl from Bardez who was suffering from down syndrome and a 42-year old lady from Naroa in Tiswadi, who was suffering from hypertension and died due to pneumonia. 

In the last two and a half months, Covid19 has claimed 66 lives who were below the age of 51. 

It includes one 14-year girl from Vasco. 

Eight youngsters between the age group of 26 to 30 have died while 15 are between 31 to 40 years of age. 

And between the age group of 41 to 50, Goa has lost 42 lives. 

TODAY’S 14

The mortality list published today by the government includes one 66-year old male, who was brought dead on 12th September and was tested positive for Covid19. It took the toll of Saturday to five.

In addition to three deaths, Sunday reported six more deaths: Sankhli-68 (Female), Vasco-54 (F), Betim-72 (M), Sangolda-38 (M), Vasco-94 (M), and Seraulim-45 (M). 

Today’s deaths from 2 am to 12.50 pm include seven victims: Navelim-64 (F), Guirim-72 (M), Keri, Pedne-61 (M), Old Goa-65 (M), St Cruz-65 (M), Bicholim-71 (M) and Ponda-26 (M).
