Ray of hope: Covid deaths declining in Goa
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 13 September 2020 20:51 ISTThe graph of Covid deaths seems to be declining in the last two days, creating a ray of hope that the trend could continue with Goa reaching the stage of zero deaths.
After recording the highest number of deaths this month like 10 to 12 per day, the deaths have come down to four and three in the last two days.
The total number of Covid deaths has reached 290. Out of this, 150 occurred in one August.
But in the first 13 days, August had recorded only 40 deaths. But September has already touched the toll of 95 before a fortnight.
Unlike last month, 45 people succumbed to Covid19 this month in four days: 10 on 2nd September, 11 on 6th September as well as 12 each on 8th and 11th September. Also 8 and 9 deaths were reported on 7th and 3rd September respectively.
But there was also little respite observed in the last five days. Only three deaths on 9th September, five on 10th, four yesterday and 3 today, till 1 pm.
On 12th September, including the reports provided today, Goa reported only four deaths. And three more deaths on Sunday, till today afternoon.
On Saturday, total 10 deaths were reported. But out of it, only three had occurred yesterday. An 82-year male from Porvorim and 70-year male from Madurai.
Also succumbed to Covid19 was a 28-year old Covid positive girl from Bardez, who was suffering with down syndrome and died due to respiratory failure.
Today’s Covid bulletin added one more death of a 75-year old male from Keri, Pedne who died last night.
From 2.50 am till 1 pm, three more succumbed to Covid on Sunday: 73-year old male from Arpora, Nagoa as well as 72-year old male from Assagao in Bardez. The third case was an 88-year old lady from Sankhli.
