Goa police arrest Kenneth for FB post that Parrikar is dead

Kenneth Silveira, a young hotelier of Vasco, has been arrested by Goa police for putting a Facebook post that Goa’s Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has died.

The FB post stated: “Just got news that Parrikar is no more.”

Crime Branch SP Kartik Kashyap confirmed the arrest, stating that he has been arrested under Section 505 of IPC for spreading rumour and creating panic.

Goa CM Parrikar is presently being treated in USA for pancreatic illness.

There is a growing demand of releasing authentic health bulletins about Parrikar’s condition while opposition is saying that Goa is running headless government.

Kenneth had contested Panaji by-election held in August last year against Parrikar as an independent candidate, polling 96 votes.

While his original post had 15 shares, Kenneth posted another message later, stating: “I clarified the rumour on Facebook rather than spreading false news. Instead rumour has been clarified on fb whether Parriakr is still there with us or not.”

A comment below that by Rupesh Kamat states: “Time to go in.”

Kenneth asks him: “Why? Planning to hatch another conspiracy against me”

And then he was arrested by Goa police.
