Goa Forward indicts BJP’s Ticlo and AAP’s Elvis in Housing Board scams

Hardly a fortnight after he joined the Aam Aadmi Party, the supposedly upright retired government officer Elvis Gomes faced a frontal attack from Goa Forward party, allegedly in Housing Board land allotment scams.
Claiming RTI documents, GF spokesperson Durgadas Kamat has alleged that ruling Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Glen Ticlo as the chairman and Gomes as the Managing Director were involved in number of scams.
Kamat now plans to approach the Lokayukta with all the documents.
“The nexus between the BJP MLA and AAP state convenor is crystal clear”, he adds.
After Gomes retired from government service, AAP has announced him as the Cuncolim candidate as well as appointed him the state convenor.
According to Kamat, Ticlo and Gomes in collusion with each other residential apartments of the Housing Board at Curti in Ponda and Davorlim in Salcete, without going through the tendering process.
The required legal process of paying the fees and then choosing the applicants through lots was not at all followed, claims Kamat.
Citing another scam, Kamat said both Ticlo and Gomes had reverted the plots back to the same beneficiaries who had not utilised till their deadline ended.
In addition, he also alleged that Gomes had sanctioned fuel bills of the official as well as private cars of the chairman, in violation of the Housing Board rules.
While a change is definitely need in Goa from the corrupt and "impossible to change" attitude of the older political parties like the BJP, CONGRESS, MGP (SHARAD PAWAR INCOGNITO), one would have thought that the AAP would provide some hope to the people of Goa. Unfortunately, the recent behavior of a lot of their stalwarts, arrogance of it's supremo, and the choice of their candidates in Punjab and Goa, makes one feel that it is really not going to be a party to invest our hope in. I would not like to say that the above allegations against Gomes and Ticlo are true (ofcourse untill proven they are not), one cannot all the same just think that they are not true either. If one has been following Goan politics and its connection with the bureaucracy, there has definitely not been a single individual who has climbed the ladder without being a slave to the masters, albeit, involuntarily, and for sure Gomes is no exception-whether he wanted to be a part of the corruption or not!!!!!Goans have a tuff assignment fo these election. It will be like choosing between the "Devil and Deep Blue Sea"
Indict? what a choice of word there. Is the GF, jury, court to indict someone? They can only complain and have the law do the rest or indict.
