Kejri claims 35 seats for AAP in Goa’s Assembly of 40

On his second visit to Goa within a month, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that his Aam Aadmi Party will win 35 out of 40 seats in the next Assembly election.

While beginning his three-day visit by addressing a meeting of Goa’s traditional fishermen in the port city of Vasco, Kejriwal claimed that Delhi would repeat in Goa.

Like Delhi, where AAP won 67 out of 70 seats, the Delhi CM said people of Goa are also fed up of both – the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Congress.

“Both are two sides of the same coin of corruption”, said Kejriwal, claiming that Goans have now found a non-corrupt alternative in the name of AAP.

He also equated Goa’s traditional fishermen, with the working class of Delhi, whose livelihood was affected by those in power.

AAP is fully supporting the struggle of fishermen against the dredging activity of the Mormugao Port Trust.

They allege that dredging activity would benefit mining and other industries while fishing industry may be wiped out for ever.

Wearing a ‘kopel’ of Sao Joao fest celebrated by Christian community last week, Kejriwal today afternoon interacted with traditional fishermen from Khariwado and then addressed a meeting of the fisherfolk community.

He will tomorrow have a dialogue with small hotel and guesthouse owners at Calangute, followed by interaction with the youth in Ponda.
