Police to file reply on leaking info of Babush case, remand extended

Rape-accused Babush Monseratte is not worried about his police custody getting extended but the news of his investigation getting leaked out in public.
While Goa Children’s Court extended his police custody by four more days today along with the victim girl’s mother, Babush pleaded with the court not to leak the information of his probe to the media.
According to Adv Rajeev Gomes, lawyer of the St Cruz MLA Babush, the judge was not satisfied with the reply filed by the investigating officer regarding the news leaks.
“The court has now asked SP Crime Branch to file a detailed reply about news leaks to the media”, said Adv Gomes.
Adv Gomes has pointed out at the Bombay high court order of 2011 which directs the police not to leak any information about investigation to the media till the chargesheet is filed.
Considering the seriousness of the charges Babush is facing, the police have to file the chargesheet about this case within three months.
Today was the third occasion Babush and victim’s mother were produced before the court, seeking extension of police custody.
Babush did not oppose it and sought bail.
Wondering, why very little exposure and talks from media on the issue of Goa Congress MLA Atanasio Monserratte and the accusation of rape?
Shame on the Media for picking and choosing items that are put forward as news, thereby contributing to trial by media. There was more publicity on Tarun Tejpal, Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya. Is the crime committed by Goa Congress MLA Atanasio Monserratte not worthy of proper justice?
Why not transfer the case and accused to Nepal or atleast another state in India, for fair trial? Has anyone looked into whether his wife is an enabler to the crime? What else skeletons came out while conducting raids at his villa? I am sure there would be more charges that could be included which are unrelated to Rape. Don't tell me our criminal investigators are not street smart. Unless they have selective smartness. After all politicians have become a disgrace all over the world.
OH NO - don't tell me - he is not an Indian but a Portuguese national. Why not use lie detector and include his son's involvement in rape too while questioning? Maybe truth will come out and the son's case can be reopened. Something in their family genes for being accused of Rapes. Serious calls for castration so that there would not be any more such accusations of rape coming forward from their children when they grow up.
