BJP also ‘strengthens’ Cong, saying it damaged their prospects too in CCP
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 10 March 2016 21:42 ISTFollowing the Babush line, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is also now blaming the Congress for damaging their prospects in CCP election of Panaji.
Congress panel did not win a single seat in the CCP poll and also got negligible votes with some of its candidates even losing deposits.
But it appears that those negligible votes made a difference since both Babush Monseratte and now the BJP are holding the Congress responsible for their poor performance.
Babush panel has come to power with 17 seats in the 30-member CCP while the ruling BJP panel got only 13 seats.
When media asked for his reaction to Babush’s allegation that the Congress played as the B Team of the BJP, Panaji MLA Siddharth Kuncalienker said actually the Congress also damaged their prospects in some places.
He also cited as example of St Inez where, he said, BJP candidate Vishnu Naik lost by one vote.
Congress candidate Sameer Chari polled 69 votes in this ward.
According to BJP spokesperson Sadanand Tanavde, his party candidates polled 7000 votes in Panaji Assembly constituency while Babush panel polled only 4000 votes.
“Babush is also losing his hold also in Taleigao by losing two wards and winning one ward with little margin,” said former Tivim MLA.
The party spokesperson was however quite upset with the Congress leaders like Digambar Kamat and Vishwajeet Rane greeting Babush on his victory.
“What right do they have to congratulate Babush when they have harassed him throughout Digambar’s Congress regime”, he asked.
It sounded like he was suggesting Babush not to fall prey to the Congress tactics of forming grand alliance, leaving media persons wondering who is whose B Team…
Hahahahaha, "leaving media persons wondering who is whose B Team".......LOL, Sandesh, hilarious!
